At Rocky Mountain Community Church, we believe wholeheartedly in the obligation & service opportunity we have as Christ followers to support and encourage local and international missionaries. Without those who have dedicated their lives to reaching out with the message of the Gospel, the body of Christ would be incomplete. We also believe that it’s the responsibility of every believer to share his/her faith in Jesus. Therefore, we are indebted to those around the world and in our own cities who serve as full-time vocational missionaries.

Our philosophy of missions is taken from Scripture. We believe in the priesthood of the believer (1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 5:10) and encourage all our members to do their part in sharing the Gospel. For some this is giving financially, for others it is serving faithfully. For some this is going to another country, for others it is resourcing and training those who do.

Missions is the local body reaching out to our community, our city, our nation, and our world (Acts 1:8). It will be a consistent teaching and challenge from the pulpit.

Regarding our financial support of missionaries and ministry organizations, we believe that each individual who calls RMCC his/her home church should be giving to God-honoring missions all over the world. We hope that our members faithfully give to our local body, but we also encourage them to give directly to the ministries and missionaries of their choice, bypassing the many missions organizations which are required to deduct administrative fees. By empowering our members to give at their Christ-led, prayerfully-considered discretion, they serve as our grand missions committee.

God’s extra provision is not intended to raise our standard of living, but to raise our standard of giving.

“Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:4).
